I'm going to start working on more site improvements that should start to resemble the high profile, high volume sites. Small steps.... Compare the site now to the site in a year from now and I'm sure it will be completely different. I'm trying to make the site live up to the standards of the bigger sites but keep the small site and small community feel.

Free Tube Porn, Chat, forum, Blog - what next?

I'm trying to come up with ideas on what I can do next to improve Suckittube. I just added chat this week, which I think is kind of cool but no one is really using it yet. I'm probably going to add more categories soon too - milf, raw, bizzare, etc. Let me know if you have any suggestions on what categories you'd like to see.

Another thing I'm thinking of is reworking my scripts to get more information about the videos like screen shots, names of the videos, etc. I'm sure that would help to enhance the viewer experience. I'm also going to focus on adding more video sites.

One other thing I'm toying with is to add some kind of community web cam site - although that might be a little overplayed and I'm not sure how much work would be involved in getting it going. We'll see. Besides, I don't want to give away ALL of my ideas - gotta keep the competition guessing ;)

New Chat feature - check it out

I've added a new chat feature to the site. There's a chat window at the bottom of the page on the main page and there's a chat menu button at the top of each page that will take you to a popout window with the chat screen on it. Check it out, see if I'm on and say "Hey". My screen name, of course, is suckittube.

Just to try it out and see what happens, I've added an embedded chat window at the bottom of the main page. I'm going to add a button that will allow the chat to be popped up in its own window one of these days soon. It's just a test, but chat seems to be one of the most popular items on our site at work so what the hell, I'll give it a try.

I have completed the site re-design. I think it looks pretty good - at least 100 times better than the first suckittube site. I wish I didn't have to put so many ads up but it's the only way I can make any money. It looks better without the top banner, so click a few banners (and then click on a second page as well, better payout) and I might be able to take it off.

I've added a lot more of the High Quality videos, but I'm still looking for more. I've got some new prospects for all videos that I will probably have in place by the end of this weekend. Hopefully this will provide limitless amounts of quality videos for your viewing pleasure.

Newly updated main page

I've finally got the main page finished, a little ahead of schedule. I think it's better, or at least a step in the right direction. It still needs some tweaking but I'm pretty pleased with it for now. I'm going to go through the rest of the category pages and update them to match the main page as I have time. I think this is around site revamp #5 or #6 now. So much for this being just a "build it an leave it alone" site....

I should have the new look done sometime by the end of next week. I'm going to start by revamping the main page then work my way through the other categories. I need to redo a little of the backend stuff too so the look won't get propagated as quickly as I'd like, but it will be worth the wait. I'm really diggin' this new look, I hope you do too.

Yet another site alteration

Yes, indeed - I've added more ads. I've tried to make it at least look symmetrical but it does, admittedly, look a bit overloaded at the moment. I made the change because I've been studying google analytics and it appears my bounce rate, for my type of site, is well below what I would hope it would be. The bounce rate, for those who aren't aware, is measured by how many people click on links on the page and go somewhere else - usually an ad or some other link. I'm trying to get people to click on the ads, hence the added ad space.

I continue to search for alternate ways to get ad clicks but for now it seems that overloading on the ads seems to be the most effective. I'm just trying to at least cover my costs - for a refreshing change. I don't see any reason why I shouldn't be able to do that with this site.

The site IS in beta mode, so expect many changes - especially now that I have more of an idea of what I need to change to (hopefully) monetize the site a little more. We'll see what happens. Check out the FORUM for more updates on what's going on in the suckittube world.

I've already created the new setup, I just need to test it out before I make it available. It's going to be a, somewhat, major step forward as far as what I was expecting from the suckittube.com site. This was supposed to be my "low maintenance" and "build it and forget it" concept site that would supposedly bring in enough in ad revenues to pay for itself. Unfortunately I'm WELL behind in the "pay for itself" area....

I signed up months ago for a Targeted Traffic Hits account. I paid through Paypal and it seemed that they just took my money but didn't give me an account. I was a little freaked out. I sent an email to support wanting to find out wtf. They said that, basically, they receive the payment, then review the request, THEN grant the account. Okay...what the hell? You take my money then determine if I qualify to purchase traffic???

Great, wonderful, whatever. I finally got approved. I initially purchased $250 worth of traffic, which equated to a little more than 50,000 guaranteed unique hits. Wow, nice - right? Whatever. My site got "evaluated" which resulted in a problem. My videos used to start automatically. I guess this is considered a security risk and needed to be corrected according to TTH. I fixed it, got it approved finally, and my campaign was now started. I guess you could say that, I guess. I got 54 hits in about 4 days, I contacted support to find out wtf since I was supposed to get 50k+ in 30 days. After around the 3rd day of not getting a response from them I asked them to cancel my account for lack of performance and lack of response. After another 5 days they finally did.

It's now been over 2 months and I have yet to receive my refund and yet to receive a response to my REPEATED requests for one. What kind of asshole company takes $250 for 50,000+ unique clicks, gives only 54, and thinks it's okay to just keep the payment?

I would LOVE for someone to send me an address or a phone number for these fuckers. I've set up a cron job to send them an email every hour requesting my refund but I'm sure they've probably blocked it by now. I just want what is due to me, nothing more. I've really grown to hate these fuck-holes and plan to continue my campaign against them. I've already trashed them on several forums and plan to do so on many more. I will explore every free avenue to denounce them that I can find. If that doesn't work then I will consider taking it to further levels but I'd rather not.

This is one of those situations in life that would be easy to drop, cut my losses, and leave to being stupid and as a life lesson. I can't do that. Maybe it's because I'm a Scorpio or something but this shit fucking pisses me off. I can't even begin to comprehend that someone can do this to a person and not feel any guilt or remorse. Most of the time I would feel comfort in karma taking care of the situation, but this isn't the first time someone has taken money from me for nothing and I'm sick of taking it up the ass when this happens. I'm going to track down these fuckers until I find them and I get SOMETHING from them. I'd rather pay a lawyer $500 to send them a letter threatening them to give me back my money (and, of course, get it back) then let them get away with this shit.

Can anyone out there help me? I know their servers are in Kentucky but their domain registration is private so I don't have anything other than their support email address - which is NOT working for me.

I finally upgraded the site with larger videos, less intrusive advertising (sort of), and an extra video feed to pull videos from. I plan to add more video sources - hopefully soon. Once I learn more php and other such tools then I'll start beautifying the page a lot more as well.

I've started development on Suckittube v3.0. You can check it's progress here. I like the layout much better than the current suckittube.com site. It still needs a lot of refinements and enhancements but I think it flows a bit better and isn't quite so clunky. I do worry that the video is a little too big for some people's screen resolution, but I think that most people have moved on to at least 1024x768. The ads are all still on the page, but they are just hidden. I've disguised them as bookmarks and favorites. Sure, a lot of savvy people will figure that one out, but I'm testing out text ads to see if they convert a little better than the banners have been.

I've decided it's finally time to learn php as well as enhance my knowledge of mysql. Once I do then the site will be on the road to greatness. Check back in about a year....

Traffic is starting to pick up a little on the site. I think that's because I've got my SEO working a little better. Since dropping advertising I've slipped a bit on my Alexa stats, but hopefully I'm making some changes that will help to attract, and retain, a loyal following.

Changes to the site include ramping up the forum a little. I'm trying to create some initial topics that will attract interest and conversation. I've had a few sign-ups so far so who knows if it will take off or not.

I'm also planning more updates to the main video page. The changes include adding links to more videos so viewers can have a few more choices. I'm also going to cut back on the ads too and do more rotation than just blasting viewers with an assload of banners. These two suggestions came from the forum - so keep the suggestions coming.

Check back for site updates by next week.

There must be a better way

Sub-title - The trials and tribulations in advertising, traffic exchange and other such attempts to generate traffic.

I've tried various advertising methods but only seem to generate traffic when I pay for it - blah, blah, blah. The latest advertising trial I've tried was with Targeted Traffic Hits which seems to be failing miserably. I started my campaign on 10/03, was supposed to get 50,000 unique hits by 11/03 but have since only received 584 and none of them have come in the last five days. Their support takes anywhere from a day to a week to reply and they seem to not want to give refunds - even though they don't seem to live up to their contractual agreements. I will, however, commend them on one thing. They did help me fix a problem with my site that I wasn't aware of. Apparently the latest IE 7 has more security settings than previous versions and wasn't playing the videos. I didn't know that because I don't use Windows, I despise Windows, and - have I said - I don't like Windows?

Anyway.... Check out my NEW FORUM and post issues you've had with different vendors too. I'm really interested to find other avenues of traffic that are low cost, or better yet - free.

I feel another site redesign coming on. Even I don't like the look of all the damn advertising.... Give me a week or two and see what I come up with.

On a side note: the funny thing about this site is that I intended it to be a build-it-and-leave-it-alone type of site. I just wanted to put it out there, do nothing to it, and see what it could do. Unfortunately I can't just let it sit there without picking at it so it's becoming more and more of a project than I intended. What I have now is only the beginning (hence the "BETA" mode) so as I learn more then the site will benefit more. BE SURE TO COME BACK OFTEN!!! I'm obsessive about watching the traffic graphs...

Maybe that came out wrong - E SEX CLICKS banner exchange is a SCAM. I signed up on 9/2/20007, got my initial 3000 credits, then proceeded to accrue credits over the next three weeks - 3500 more. Three weeks and my account was still "awaiting administrator approval". After three emails to the admin of the site and one to the hosting company (with no response back) I couldn't get an explanation why my ads weren't being displayed and why my account was still in a pending status.

So no support and no exchange of banners. Fuck 'em, I dropped those bastards and plan to warn as many people as I can about them.

Sneaky html caching

My wife has the only Windows computer in the entire house, I use Debian and Ubuntu. Apparently there's a caching issue in IE if it's not told to not cache. I didn't realize this until last night when I just did a random test on the site and found that it kept showing the same video over and over whenever i clicked on the NEXT VIDEO link.

After doing some googling I found the solution, and have listed it here. Sorry, but I don't know how to get the neccessary html code to pass the blogger checker so you'll just have to interpret what I have here and put the "<>" where needed:

Banner exchange anyone?

I'm looking for a good banner exchange program. If anyone out there wants to exchange banners with me then just let me know. I'll designate a space specifically for you on this page and will maintain it as long as you maintain my banner too. We can discuss details later, but I'd like to generate more traffic to the site, and currently that only seems to be effective with advertising. I don't want to pay for adspace and have been venturing into banner exchanges lately, but so far I've displayed their banners but none of mine have been displayed. That's just not right.

So - I'm offering dedicated banner space for your ad and only your ad. In exchange I require dedicated banner space on your page as well. I continue to promote my site on various social networking sites, my blogs, and wherever I can find space to place an advertisment (like Classmates.com - but you have to be a little tricky). I also am an avid participant in the google webmaster program, which has its benefits but it's not a fix-all solution.

Fixed an annoying problem

First off I just want to say that I've changed the type of videos that are displayed on here. Let me know if you would like to see something different. Unfortunately it needs to be something that doesn't require a 2257 (i.e. publisher of explicit content) certificate, kiddie porn (fucking sinners), or anything else that is obviously not considered legal or tasteful. Now, on to the post.

Being the owner of this site, I strive to make it something that I, myself, would want to return to at least occasionally. One problem I found while perusing this page myself was that I would find a video I liked but had no way of finding more information out about it. I temporarily fixed that by adding a link above the video that will take you directly to the serving page. This only makes good sense anyway since that is only fair to the site I pull the links from.

My plan for the future is to add the title of the video somewhere around the video area. The link to the page serving the video will permanently remain, but I'm going to add some code to make it so when you click on that link that there's still a way, at the top of the page, to come back to SuckitTube when you're done viewing the video page. Sure, I'm an advertising revenue whore at this stage of the website, but even you have to admit that sending people away from your web page makes far less sense than giving them an easy way to come back again :)

I'm still spending WAY more on advertising than I'm making on ads, but I'm finding what times work best for serving the ads and what the optimum CPC (cost per click) is. So far I'm finding a lot of features I like on Google Adwords, but they are very restrictive on what things I can say in my ads. There also doesn't seem to be any consistency in their pricing either. I can have a great set of key words for one ad, and duplicate that on another ad but the CPC is triple what it is on the first ad. Maybe it's the wording in the ad that makes the difference - but I'm not sure.

If ANYONE out there knows of a better advertising site than Google then please let me know. I want something that I can set my own price, set the times that the ad runs, and set geographic restrictions - i.e. only run the ads in the US and Canada. I have a nice banner ad for SuckitTube already (see below) and I'm working on one for SansuiZen so being able to serve banner ads would be a nice bonus as well.
